Continual upgrades over the years have kept the hotel at the top of its game. High-speed Internet access, the latest audiovisuals, and an attentive staff accommodate even the most high-powered affairs. Yet, for all of its high-tech capabilities, meeting rooms still exude the charm of days gone by. The Imperial Ballroom visually transports guests to the Palace of Versailles with its domed ceiling, gilded balconies, proscenium-arch stage, and two-story Baccarat-crystal chandeliers. The Plaza Ballroom shows off an eighteenth-century Flemish tapestry, handsomely lit from below with the hotel’s original torchieres. Ballrooms occupy the Mezzanine level, while 27 smaller rooms occupy the quiet fourth floor. These rooms accommodate groups of 10 to 115. Across the street, The Castle at Park Plaza hosts exhibits and other large-scale events in a National Historic Landmark—one that includes turrets, a moat, and a drawbridge. Planners can either arrange for in-house catering, or plan for meals and refreshments in the hotel’s choice of nine restaurants and bars. Among the culinary highlights: Todd English’s Bonfire Steakhouse, McCormick and Schmick’s Seafood Restaurant, and the signature Swan’s Café, which features American cuisine for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, plus daily afternoon tea.
